charming mahogany longcase grandfather clock by john Bathgate of cockenzie ( near Edinburgh ).
the attractively shaped hood with carved thistle decoration and circular dial with subsidiary seconds dial and date dial, the case is a lovely rich mahogany with cross banded door and flame mahogany panels, moulded carved columns and stands on bracket feet.
the eight day movement which strikes the hour on a bell has been fully serviced and is in good working order.
without being over fussy, this really is a most attractive clock of neat proportions and is not done justice by the photographs.
