Description

Beautiful coloured engraving called "The Preliminary Canter" by John Sturgess depicting the runners in the 1895 Epsom Derby cantering down the track prior to the start of the race. The runners are named with the owners in the margin below print, prominent is Sir Visto the winner of the race that year. Limited Edition commissioned by Anthony L Mitchel . Silver Gallery. Stamped. This print is in excellent condition and framed in a silvered distressed mount. It can be shipped with or without the frame. Size including frame is 25 x 30.5 inches. Visible image size is 16 x 21.5 inches (not inc mount) .
