Beryl - "A well-known art magazine asked me to paint a suitable picture for the cover of their anniversary edition, celebrating either 20 or 25 years of publication I think. I’m not sure exactly what they had in mind but it probably wasn’t these three women who are attacking the excellent cake with undisguised relish. There does seem to be rather a lot of cake to go round, but they look like they have never suffered from any lack of appetite so I expect they will manage."
