Early 19th Century French Empire mahogany bed.This is a handsome and lovely patinaed Retour D’Egypte Day Bed (Referring to the French Campaign in Egypt and Syria that started in 1798 and ended up in 1801). The head and footboard are decorated with gilt bronze decoration, the pannelled ends each has carved caryatid fore-edge.Bed in a good original condition, signs of use or wear should be expected such as minor nicks,dings or rubs.
