Buchanan and Laing (Prima Finds)

Description

This is (as one would expect from one of the most important British Silversmith and jewellers, namely Garrards) a fine example of a silver plated tea caddy. A plain octagonal body and cover with minimal decoration, a vertical gadroon edge band to the top and bottom with a cast figural finial of a helmeted Knight. It bears the Regent Plate trade mark (acquired 1952 when they took over Goldsmiths) the address being Regent Street London, dates the item to the mid 20th century.

It is an interesting vintage design, original in concept but still nodding to the past. Fabricated from a good gauge of metal and plated to the highest standard.

Condition: In excellent condition, no issues to report.
