Description

Here we have an elegant pair of Edwardian 9ct Gold Cuff Links. The chain linked cuff links are concave ovals with engraved harebell decoration. They come supplied in a modern gift box.

The cuff links were made in Birmingham by J. Aitkin & Son and date to 1910. J. Aitkin & Son was established by John Aitkin in the late 19th century at premises in Spencer Street in the heart of Birmingham's famous Jewellery Quarter. They initially specialised in silver jewellery, particularly brooches for women and cuff links for men, and small silver items such as trinket dishes and photo frames. They went on to work in gold and later produced some very fine enamel jewellery.

Condition is extremely good with no dings, dents or damage and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect after over 110 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The oval links are 1.9cm by 1.1cm and each pair extends 2.5cm. The set weighs in at a very respectable 7.4g of solid 9ct gold.

The cuff links are fully hallmarked on the backs and these are nice and clear to read. They show the 9 and .375 marks for 9ct Gold, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter l for 1910 and the J A & S makers' mark for J. Aitkin & Son.

Shipping in the UK is £12.00 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the cuff links.
