Description

This is a very pretty Vintage Sterling Silver Heart Shape Locket. The locket is hinged and can hold a picture in each half. The front of the locket is engraved with a flower and some foliage. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.

The locket is fully hallmarked with the import marks for Sheffield and the importer RGL and dates to 1993. RGL were jewellers and silversmiths who both manufactured and imported items. They were active through the 1970s, 80s and 90s.

Condition is very good, with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect after 30 years of service. The catch and hinge are both in good working order. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The locket is 4.2cm from the loop to the point and 3.1cm across. It weighs in at 8.9g of solid Sterling Silver.

The hallmarks, on the back of the locket, are small but easily read with a magnifier. They show the 925 stamp for Sterling Silver, the Libra astrological sign for imports assayed in Sheffield, the date letter T for 1993 and the R G L mark for the importer.
