George V 9ct Gold Cuff Links, E.A. Phillips, 1923

Description
This is an attractive set of George V 9ct Gold Cuff Links. The chain linked cuff links are oval in shape with a chased scroll and flower design on a textured background. They come supplied in a modern gift box.The cuff links were made in Birmingham in 1923 and have the makers' mark EAP which is believed to be that of jeweller and silversmith Edwin Arden Phillips. Phillips was active in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter during the 1920s and 1930s with the EAP mark being seen most commonly on smoking accessories and cuff links.
Condition is good with just a very slight misshaping to the back of one cuff link plate, which is not visible from the front, plus the superficial surface wear that you would expect after 100 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each plate is 1.7cm by 1.1cm and each pair is 1.9cm long. The set weighs in at 3.0g of solid 9ct gold.
The hallmarks on the backs of the plates are nice and clear to read. They have the 9 and .375 stamps for 9ct gold, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham the date letter y for 1923 and the E A P in an oval makers' mark that is believed to be that of Edwin Arden Phillips.
Shipping in the UK is £10 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the cuff links.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
