Description

An arch dial, 8-day longcase clock by George Carruthers of Pershore. The brass dial has a beautifully engraved and silvered centre with a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture. The corners have brass spandrels with the silvered name plate in the arch. The movement strikes hourly on a bell. The oak case has an elegant, wavy top, long door, crossbanded in yew. The trunk also has quarter columns to the corners. The hood has turned pillars to the sides with brass capitals and the top has 3 pillars supporting 3 ball & spires with fretwork between
