Early 19th century French gilt metal jewellery box with 14 handpainted miniature portraits mounted on the case and lid.Each portrait is possibly of French courtesan origin and comes in original retail case from Morel & J Chaumet & Co,62 Rue Richelieu,Paris, with family crest mounted in silver. In excellent condition and comes with original key.Length - 14.5cm.Width - 12.5cm. Height - 11cm. The House of Chaumet founded in Paris in 1780 was a high end jeweller based in Paris.DateEarly 19th Century
