Description

Antique 18th Century Carved Oak Box Settle and dating from around the time of George 11 c1730. It has a carved top rail above three small panels leading to a carved frieze with the initials ' C J ' to the centre and above four carved Lozenge panels. It has a twin hinged plank seat revealing deep storage space and to the front there are four plain moulded panels. It has down swept silhouette shaped armrests on a turned support and stands on stile feet. It is hand & peg joined and has panelled sides and original plank back.

Measures 50" high x seat height 19" x 19" deep x 52" wide

In very good original condition with a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
