Antique 17th Century Oak Coffer Box c1600

Description
Antique Early 17th Century Oak Box and dating from around 1600-1620. It has a plank top with moulded edge and with a later period iron lock plate. Internally there is a candle box and it stands on shaped stile side supports and has its original rough sawn panelled back.This lovely original oak box oozes charm and history. To the top you can see the marks from where its original iron lock strap had been and also where it had been broken into......a period burglary! This box has obviously been loved and cared for in the past and has a lovely deep waxed original patination and good mellow colour and grain to the oak.
