Superb Antique Victorian Mahogany Scotch Chest with drop down front and sliding drawers and dating from around 1880. Construct from quality mahogany it has a squared edge to the top above a serpentine frieze drawer over a double false drawer with working lock and key that folds down to reveal four internal mahogany sliding trays ( a most unusual feature). there are three long graduating drawers all of which are mahogany lined with original turned knob handles and with a deep bottom drawer that extends into the plinth base. To each side there are carved corbal supports and it stands on small bun feet.
