Description

Antique Late 18th Century Country Oak Tack Cupboard or Wardrobe and dating from around the time of George 111 c1780. It has a cornice top above a deep frieze and two sectional panelled doors with carved frieze below. Internally there are original wood pegs and a later hanging rail. The base is hollow so that the clothes hang inside the base which has a Linen Fold carved frieze to the top above a carved central panel and further moulded panels to either side carved with the Dove of Peace. To the base there are two pine lined drawers with later brass handles and it stands on stile feet.
It has panelled sides and a rough hewn panelled and boarded back and is hand & peg joined.
The top separates from the base for ease of transporting.
