Description

Antique Georgian Regency Oak Secretaire Bookcase and dating from around 1800. Constructed from quality oak it has a cornice top above a deep frieze and two astragal gloazed doors with working key and with two internal fixed oak shelves. The base has a reeded edge to the top above a deep drawer front which opens to reveal a superb interior with a small central oak door flanked on either side by a turned oak column which are in fact secret sliding drawers. There are three pigeon holes with shaped frieze above and a long drawer. It has a replacement leather tooled skiver.
There are three further long graduating drawers and all of the drawers are pine lined with later handles and it stands on bracket feet joined by a shaped frieze.
