Description

A large Mid Century oak writing desk by Carsons c1960's. The top has the original skiver with an arrangement of eight drawers having recessed handles and a pull-out stationery tray, and sits on downward tapered square sectional legs that sit recessed under the drawers on each side.
In good condition, no breaks or repairs and the drawers run well. Locks present but no keys. The original rexine top has some wear to the edges (seen on image).

I do have a desk chair that I bought along with this desk, also retailed through Smart & Son Ltd, Gloucester. The chair is listed separately, but I have shown an image.
Our stock items are carefully selected by myself and I only buy good quality items which may need small repairs, a clean and a polish. I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
