A fascinating antique George Philip & Son - Philips' Planisphere showing the principal stars for every hour in the year circa 1890. Lithographed circular star chart mounted on a moveable board disk. Overlaid there is a die - cut frame of gilt stamped straight grained Morocco covered board.

George Philip and Son, is British publishing house and is one of the oldest in the United Kingdom, located in London. The company, specialises in maps and atlases and was founded in 1834. Some of its well-known publications are the Philip International Atlas and A Philip Management Planning Atlas.

In good antique condition. There is a small piece of missing Morocco covered board. The gilt stamped board is rubbed. The edges of the board disk are rubbed too. Please see photographs.
