A fine early 18th century English Oak Spinning Wheel, with working treadle feature and wheel.Examples of spinning wheels such as this one, made their way to Europe as early as the 13th Century from the Middle-East and Asia and were used for centuries to spin wool or other fibres into yarn for clothing and various textiles.
