A very handsome, late 18th / early 19th century, percussion cap (flintlock converted), single barrel, Sporting Shotgun by Henry Nock, London.

Henry Nock (1741-1804) was one of the finest gunsmiths of his time, supplying the military through the Napoleonic Wars as well as civilian markets. Based on his reputation as a fine inventor and gunsmith, he was appointed gunmaker-in-ordinary to King George III from 1789, and supplied arms to the Royal Family.

This fine example, features a walnut half stock with metal butt plate, below a single, sighted, 80cm (31.5in), 12 bore barrel. Overall, it sits at 120cm (47in) in length, making this a truly statement display piece.
