Description
An exquisitely decorative English Boulle and Tortoise Shell Ink Stand. Circa 1850.The stand holds two brass topped ink wells, each with screw off lid featuring a young bust of Victoria in the centre. The ink wells flank a bun handled lid section which is removed to reveal a small recess for writing materials.
The incredibly intricate boulle work sits over an oblong rosewood base, and would make a wonderful ornament, or practical piece for a study, or desk top.
Period: Victorian (C.1850)
