Description

George V Infantry Officers sword in its leather field scabbard. Has a pierced iron hilt with GVR cipher in silver wire bound shagreen grip. Polished etched steel blade marked as by Hawksworth, Sheffield. Blade etched with GVR cipher, Royal Coat of Arms and foliage. Also has an etched panel with the original owner - 2nd Lieut. H Bruce Tate, 1st London Reg, RF (Royal Fusiliers). Some original polish to blade but with areas of rust staining. In generally good sound condition overall.

Approximately 103cm overall and blade 82.5cm.
