Description

19th century Continental Naval Cutlass in it's brass mounted leather scabbard. The brass top chape of the scabbard is stamped with a naval anchor. Has a ribbed, solid brass stirrup hilt of the briquet type. Heavy, broad, curved single edged blade with makers mark and numbered 1688.

There is heavy wear overall. The scabbard seam has opened and there are some cracks to scabbard mounts but fits nicely in scabbard.

Approximately 80cm overall and blade 60cm.
