Edwards Roberts pair mahogany inlaid corner cabinets

Description

A fabulous pair of mahogany marquetry inlaid encoignures or bow front corner cabinets. The tops centred with a Sheraton revival urn in satinwood with inlay of San Domingan Concha satinwood with trailing leaf inlay. The outer edge cross banded in tulipwood with boxwood and ebony stringing the sides and doors similarly mirrored in this detail. The top frieze centre by a drawer opening to reveal the Edwards and Roberts stamp the whole inlaid with swags and bows. The pair of convex bowed doors centred by a fine Sheraton design two handled urn and finial in satinwood, typical of the finest pieces by Edwards and Roberts. The whole raised on tapered legs cross banded in tulipwood with boxwood and ebony stringing. In fine original condition retaining their original patina. Circa 1895. Measure 24" deep x 40"high.
