Description

This is an exceptional quality antique rosewood circular centre table. Dating from the 19th century this round dining center hall table has all the hallmarks of being better than average. Purchased from a Scottish castle it has great provenance and is suitably impressive in the flesh with stunning scrolling foliate marquetry inlays set into a segmented radially veneered rosewood top. The base has a large stable mahogany block from which a bee hive turned stem supports three carved rosewood cabriole shaped legs with acanthus carving to the knees and paper scroll feet. This inlaid tilt top tripod table has three original brass swivel castors and is in exceptional condition. Circa 1860. Measures 51” diameter x 29” high.
