Silver pair cases, name dial - Mills, London 1809

Description

An interesting pair cased verge with the original owner's name in place of numbers on the dial.

MOVEMENT Gilded verge fusee movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Signed and numbered (1532). All in good original condition, with a few scratches around the pillars. Running well.

DIAL White enamel, in good condition except for repaired chips on the edge at 7 and 1. The name of the owner 'THOMAS BARRETT' is used in place on numbers on the chapter ring.

INNER CASE Silver, hallmarked for London, 1809. Maker's mark TB and movement serial number. Very good condition throughout with just a small bruise on the band at 3. The high dome bull's eye crystal is fine. The hinge and catch are fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely.

OUTER CASE Silver, with matching hallmarks to the inner. Excellent condition throughout. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes correctly.
