Pocket Watch - Silver pair cases, 1804

Description
Samuel PearsonHalifax, 1804
Silver pair cases, 57 mm
Verge movement
A good “doctor's dial” verge in nice condition.
MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Blued screws and silvered regulator disk. Fully signed and numbered (347). The movement is in excellent condition throughout and running well, though the small stop lever, on the side of the case at 4, has lost the tip so doesn't operate.
DIAL : Excellent white enamel 'doctors' dial, with separate hours and seconds chapters. In very good condition with no repairs, one small flake at the centre of the hours dial, and a few very light scratches.
INNER CASE : Silver, hallmarked for Birmingham, 1804 (rubbed), maker's mark WR. Very good condition with just a short scratch at the catch. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut. The high dome crystal is fine.
OUTER CASE : Silver, matching hallmarks to the inner. The hinge and catch are fine, and the bezel snaps shut. The top of the catch button has worn down but is still functional.
One small dint on the back, and another on the rim but generally in good condition.
The outer case contains an old watchpaper from another Halifax watchmaker (Hilton).
Samuel Pearson is listed in Petticoat Lane, Halifax from 1790.
