17th Century Civil War Cannon Ball Shelford Notts

Photos

Description

Excavated many years ago on private land around Shelford Nottinghamshire. The atrocities that took place in this small village are now documented when parliament forces attacked a royalist garrison killing many soldiers and locals.
This 9.3Ib cannon ball is in a good state of preservation, some pitting on one side but no flaking, maybe due to the damp land as the River Trent is quite close by. Measuring 3.6 inches in diameter, comes with wooden stand.
