Collect the Past

Description

Believed to be a Roman cameo possibly carved from some sort of stone, this is not ivory,then set into a later Georgian period silver navette shaped ring.
The cameo represents Eros the god of love, affection and desire, in greek mythology this would be Cupid.
The style and wear looks to be right, wear to face and hands missing plus small hairline across the top. All very stable and wearable, ladies size at UK K ½ and USA 5¾.
Old auction piece then purchased by myself from the dealer.
