17th Century Limoges Enameled Cup/Dish

Description

Period: First half 17th Century.
Style: Limoges Enamel.
Dimensions: 140mm in diameter. 40mm deep.
Condition: Wear commensurate with age and use. Both original handles are missing and enamel loss is evident around the copper rim.
Marks: Unmarked.
Although well used the piece still displays well especially on the reverse with the black and gold against the blue central decoration.
Notes: A similar, complete example sold in Christies on 3-17th October 2023, which was attributed to Jacques Laudin.
