Description

Original Roman Carnelian intaglio of the God Mercury set into a high carat Georgian gold setting. The intaglio dates circa 2-3rd century AD, the ring late 1700 to mid 1800s.
Mercury was the God of financial gain, commerce, eloquence, messages, communication (including divination), travelers, boundaries, luck, trickery, and thieves he also serves as the guide of souls to the underworld and the "messenger of the gods".
The ring has some very minor wear knocks, the macro seems to show them up but when wearing the ring they are hardly noticeable.
