£295. Unusual folding screen dating from the early decades of the 20th.c. Featuring a 16th.c Japanese style image of Portuguese merchants and their dog across two panels against a plain ground of squares of silvered paper. Within a red laquered frame. The reverse features an attractive design of bamboo leaves. Areas of wear to the surface and some damage to the lower prortion caused by damp I think. Colours are bright and the overall effect is striking. A brilliant piece of vintage decor.
