Description

Unusually small mid 19th.c. French mahogany and marble top commode chest of drawers c.1840. Just 31" wide. Original grey marble top with scores of tiny fossils embedded within and canted front corners. Over a chest of four drawers. Symmetrically arranged flame mahogany veneers to the drawer fronts with brass knobs and shield shaped escutcheons. Mahogany veneered sides and plinth, also with canted corners. Some minor wear to the finish and obvious old marks to the marble. Otherwise very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
