Description

Beautiful late 19th.c. carriage driver’s whip by Swaine & Adeney of Piccadilly, the great English makers of leather and equestrian goods, established in 1750 and still going strong today. Five foot long shaft of holly wood with original long plaited leather lash. Leather grip and silver mounts with London hallmarks dated 1898. Stamped ‘Swaine & Adeney Makers to the Queen & Prince of Wales 185 Piccadilly London’. Original and unrestored condition with a short split at the base of the shaft and wear to the leather grip.
