Description

A fabulous pair of West Indies colonial era planter’s armchairs c.1900. Planter’s chairs were designed for relaxing in during the heat of the day. Typical of the form the lower section of the arms spin open to make long foot rests so you can stretch out in the shade. The wide canework seat and racked backrest allowing the breeze to cool you as you snooze. Excellent examples of the form, solid teak frames with shaped top rails, turned arm supports and front legs, reeded detail and diamond lozenges. Excellent condition, the canework is perfect. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
