Description

Charming late 18th.c. oak open dresser base c.1780. Thumb moulded top over three drawers and a particularly attractive arched apron, also with a moulded edge. Raised on turned legs joined with an open potboard display shelf. Wavey apron below the shelf, also continued on the sides. Oak sides and and drawer linings. Some obvious earlier repairs and restorations. Probably adapted from a longer piece, the whole right hand third of the dresser has been removed and then rejoined at some time, with a cut running across the top apron and shelf! The Gothic brass handles are 19th.c. period replacements. Great colour and character, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
