Description

Exceptional pair of late 19th.c. moorish style inlaid hall chairs c.1890. Maker unknown but very much in the hybrid moorish style as retailed by Liberty & Co toward the end of the 19th century. Solid walnut chairs with extensive Islamic pattern inlays in bone and satinwood across the backrest, seat and legs. Interesting Reformed Gothic shaped backrest with pierced detail, note also the Islamic arch cutaways to the legs which are splayed for stability. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
