Description

Delightful little mid 19th.c. mahogany metamorphic child’s high chair and table c.1860. Miniature armchair with a carved and shaped backrest, arms on shaped supports with a removable bar across the front to help keep the child in place. Raised on turned and carved front legs joined with crossed turned stretchers. Square table also in solid mahogany with a raised edge and turned legs with slightly outswept feet for extra stability.
The chair attaches to the base with a threaded bolt through the stretchers to make a high chair (seat height 23½”), or they can be split apart to make a lovely little table and chair set. Superb condition with original buttoned leather upholstery. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
