Description

Mid 19th.c. walnut sewing table or work box c.1870. Octagonal top with burr walnut veneers and a thumb moulded edge. Opens to reveal a fitted interior with original lining paper, featuring small compartments for threads etc and removable pin cushions, around a central well with an octagonal lid. Moulded and shaped apron, veneered to match, over a tapering octagonal body. Raised on a turned column and tripod base with shaped legs with crisply carved detail and scrolling acanthus feet. Very good colour and condition condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
