Description

Carolean style oak and cane daybed or chaise longue c.1930. Sloped backrest with carved and pierced cresting rail featuring winged cherubs and crown. Canework panel in a carved oak frame flanked with block and twist stiles with acorn finials. Over a long canework seat (seat height 14½") with carved leaf detail to the top and sides of the frame. Raised on six twist carved legs joined with matching stretchers to each side. Of identical design on both sides meaning it can be used in the centre of a room, or with the backrest to the left or right hand side. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
