Description

Late 18th century verge escapement fusee wall clock by Robert Debenham from Melford (Long Melford), Suffolk.
12" silvered and engraved brass dial with blued steel diamond pattern hands, protected by a concave glazed brass bezel.
"A" plate verge escapement line fusee movement, separated by knopped pillars.
Mahogany case, pegged back box, shaped top and bottom, with pendulum access side and bottom doors.
Robert Strange Debenham was working in Long Melford, opposite the Bull Inn, 1778-95
