Description

Lovely early 19th century Georgian butchers block,c1800.A nice light colour with great patina, it has aged beautifully with undulation and marking from 200 years of chopping and cutting. The top block detaches from the base which stands on shapely bulbous legs. Each corner has original metal edging strips. Overall condition is good given age and use. There is minor cracking /gapping around the edges and lots of surface marking from use-exactly as you would expect. There are historical woodworm holes, long dormant but treated anyway as a precaution and mainly on the underside of the chopping block.
