Description

An antique 18th Century oak mule chest, c1740. Constructed in oak with nice panelling to the front and sides, it comprises a coffer/chest with a single full length drawer.

These early pieces were the pre-cursor to the chest of drawers, and are practical pieces of furniture. The hinges and lock look original and it has an original candle box.

It is in good original condition with minor surface wear/marks to the top, front and sides, commensurate with age and use. The back has historic woodworm holes (dormant but treated anyway) and some areas of loss - but all very much as you would expect from a piece of this age.

It has aged well with good colour/patina to the wood. Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact us with any questions or if you would like to view the item.

Size: 76 cm tall x 55 cm deep x 120 cm long.
