Description

Rare and unusual antique late 18th century cow horn scrimshaw, c 1780. The horn has taken on great colour/patina from age . The scrimshaw decoration features a stag picture and an inscription:\" How much more doth beauty beauteous seem\" , which is a quote from a Shakespearean Sonnet. Overall condition is good with only minor surface wear / rubbing/ fading to scrimshaw.
