Description

An antique 19th Century Chinese bronze and wood silk iron, c1890. The main body is nicely cast and decorated, and there are character or seal marks on the handle - which has an embossed brass end-stop.

The iron has aged beautifully, with good colour/patina. There is very minor age-related wear/surface marks, but overall it is in good condition commensurate with age and use.

We are unsure whether there has been an historic repair to the handle, or if this is simply part of the original casting process (highlighted in photographs). Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact us with any questions.
