This sweet little Royal Worcester porcelain mouse netsuke, model no.2610, Style 1, is number 7 in a series of 14 first issued under the title 'Netsuke Animal Series' in 1916. They continued in production until 1960. The back stamp on this one suggests a date of 1914/15 but it is slightly distorted as you can see from the photograph. The dots system was discontinued in 1916 and replaced by an asterisk. This suggests that it is an early example. He is predominantly white but with tinting to his ears, feet and tail. His eye is black. He is in excellent condition and measures 2.5cm x 5cm
