Description

This lovely jewelled vase with its impressive claw feet was made at the factory of Royal Worcester c1880. It has three hand painted floral panels, believed to be by George Hundley, who specialised in heathers and thistles and was active at the factory from 1850-1897. The beautiful jewelled gilding bears the mark of Master Gilder, George Topham Roberts ( a gold 'TR') on the base of one foot. He left Royal Worcester in 1898. At this time the custom was for only the master gilders to sign their work in gold. Both the gilding and the floral panels are in excellent condition. The Royal Worcester impressed mark can be seen on the base of one foot. The piece is 12cm in height.
