Description

A large carved oak free-standing desk. Victorian, circa 1890, We have given this a good wax polish to bring out a rich and dark colour in the oak timber. The edges of the desk are carved and the drawers are also carved. The drawers have attractive brass handles and run smoothly they are oak-lined. A very heavy and solid piece of furniture with lots of useful storage space in the many drawers. There is panel construction all the way around the desk which shows the level of quality and effort that went into making this. There is a cupboard fitted within the kneehole section with a key and working lock. The brass hinges and backplates on the cupboard door are very attractive and decorative. The drawers are very deep, full-length across the whole depth of the desk.

This is constructed in one section so please be aware that quite a large front door and alleyway/house will be required as it would not be likely to fit into a property with small dimensions.

height 78.5 cm
width 122
depth 74.5
