Description

Orinating from France and dated to the 1930s is this wonderful trophy figure of a man mid play in a game of bowls. You don't have to be a fan of sport or bowls for that matter to appreciate this piece. Historically very interesting, just looking at the fashion of the day and the skillful detailing of the modeling with a real feel of movement. Definitely an interesting piece on it's own merit regardless of the topic. Made from spelter and cold painted to give the look of aged bronze with verdigris. All mounted on a solid marble base. Very good condition, only to note someone has scratched the side of the marble, perhaps there was a plaque there originally, it's not distracting and we will try to polish this out before dispatch. Great size, ideal for Art Deco and sport enthusiasts.
