Description

Davenport Burr Walnut Writing Desk in perfect condition for its age.

The Davenport desk originated in the late 18th century in England where it was known as a "gentleman's desk." It was designed for the wealthy and educated classes who needed a place to work, study and store their papers and documents. The desk was named after Thomas Davenport an English cabinetmaker who is credited with inventing the first portable desk in the late 1700s.

This desk is a fine example well looked after
and would look superb in a variety of rooms from the bedroom, living room or office.

This is a truly excellent piece with quality design and construction throughout.
