Vintage Mounted Taxidermy Head of a Stag

Photos

Description

A mature male deer's head, with glass eyes, brown fur, and two impressive antlers. He is presented on a shield mount, ready to hang.

This particular example has a few condition points to note, the fur is thinning in places, and there is a chip to one ear, and some damage to the nose. He does, however, have a great pair of antlers and he represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire an imposing taxidermy specimen for an affordable price.

Deer are native to every continent except Antarctica and Australia. They are considered by various cultures to be noble creatures, and have been used throughout history as heraldic ornaments, or as symbols for peace or tranquillity. It might also be of interest to note that deer antler grows faster than any other living tissue.
